Welcome to the Week at Duke in 60 Seconds.

A 71-year-old man saw his dad on film for the first time thanks to archived footage at Duke Libraries. He was only six months old when his dad died. The footage shows his dad walking in a crowd.

A new memoir by Reggie Love, a Duke alum and former Duke men’s basketball and football player, talks about his work as President Obama’s personal aide. In the book, Love says he used lessons from Coach K to help him at the White House.

Construction at Wallace Wade Stadium is under way. The Finch-Yeager Building was recently demolished. The old scoreboards will be re-purposed for soccer and lacrosse games.

Finally, Duke senior Laurel Kaye has been selected as a finalist to be one of the first colonists on Mars. Training begins soon, but in the meantime, Laurel will finish her degree at Duke.
