Duke in Pictures: Cook Society Honors Six Community Leaders

Cook Society dinner

Sherilynn Black, Natalie Hall, Lee Willard, Barbara Lau and Martin Eakes, were honored Tuesday for their community service during the Samuel Dubois Cook Society banquet at the Washington Duke Inn. Eakes received the 2015 Samuel Dubois Cook Society Distinguished Service Award.

The society was founded in 1997 to honor Cook, the university's first African American faculty member, as well as community members who follow Cook's example of social activism and leadership.

Marcus Rodriguez (not pictured) was also honored at the dinner for his service.  For more information about the honorees, read story here.
