The White House Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony follows a long tradition, but this year the event received a technological update. A.B. Duke Scholar Brittany Wenger '17 and other coders lit the White House Christmas tree with code on Thursday. Celebrities Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson introduced Wenger and she described how she is using code to fight cancer, showing that code can be used in a variety of ways to improve lives.
