Welcome to the Week at Duke-- in 60 Seconds.

A new Duke-led study has found that goats are the best way to fight an invasive plant now threatening East Coast salt marshes. Researchers say goats offer a more sustainable and low-cost alternative to chemical herbicides.

A new bike-share program will bring 50 rentable bicycles to Duke’s campus. For $20 a year, riders get unlimited bike rentals for up to three hours at a time.

In addition to teaching and research, Duke faculty are also prolific authors. Recently, professors have written books about such topics as medieval friars, Russia’s future leaders and how Billy Graham shaped the nation.

Finally, all it takes is 10 minutes a day to improve your health. Duke is hosting Wellness Expos on Oct. 15th and 29th to show employees how simple it can be to fit fitness into their day.
