Funeral, Memorial Service Announced for Alexander Rickabaugh

Information about the funeral and memorial service for Alexander Rickabaugh, the Pratt School sophomore who died this past Sunday, has been announced, said Larry Moneta, vice president for student affairs.

The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at Centenary United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem (646 W. 5th St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101). The family will receive friends following the service.

Duke Student Affairs is running a bus to the service. The bus will be at the West Campus bus stop around 4 p.m. and will leave Duke at 4:45 p.m. Students are asked to reserve a spot on the bus online here.

A memorial program will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, Forsyth Country Day School in Lewisville, NC. Again bus transportation from Duke will be provided.  The bus will leave Duke's West Campus at 8 a.m. To reserve a seat, click here.

Additionally, on Sunday, there will be a silent procession of roses at the start of the 11 a.m. worship service in Duke Chapel in memory of Alex Rickabaugh and Kaila Brown, a Duke graduate student who also died this past weekend.
