Miss America visited the Duke campus farm last week. Nina Davuluri, who is the first Indian American crowned Miss America, pitched in at the community work day to thank Duke students for their support.

With the help of social media, Duke Medicine scientists have identified a genetic defect. Scientists diagnosed the disease in one family, who then connected with more potential patients on social media. Genome sequencing on the new patients revealed the shared genetic defect.

This past weekend, TEDxDuke addressed both personal and global challenges. Speakers included Duke professor Dan Ariely and Mikkel Holm Jenson from LEGO.

The spring photo walk in Duke Gardens last Friday captured the beauty of springtime on campus and even a marriage proposal in progress. (She said yes!) Check Duke University's Facebook page for some highlights.

Finally, congratulations to our new Blue Devils! Admitted students were notified on March 27th.
