Students Compete in Duke Spelling Bee

More than 300 words were spelled before a champion was crowned

Duke's Office of Durham and Regional Affairs held the 2014 Scripps Regional Spelling Bee in Page Auditorium this March. Sixty-one students competed. More than 300 words were spelled over 25 rounds. Fifth-grader Bettie Closs from Little River Elementary School in Durham won this year's regional bee.
