Duke Voice Center Tribute to Patrick Kenan

Dr. Patrick D. Kenan was an otolaryngologist at Duke and a passionate performer. He was a founder of the Durham Savoyards and appeared in numerous productions with that company, as well as in the ensembles of the National Opera Company, Triangle Opera, Carolina Ballet, and more. Dr. Kenan's involvement in the performing arts gave him a special understanding of the needs of singers who are experiencing voice problems. He envisioned a multidisciplinary center for voice care that would help people of all walks of life achieve their best voice. Dr. Kenan passed away in 2002, but his legacy lives on in the Duke Voice Care Center, established in 2006. In this video, Dr. Kenan's family, friends and colleagues share their stories of how their lives were touched by Dr. Kenan, and about his contributions to our community and vocal health.
