A one-day conference that focuses on models of profitable businesses that also help the world will be held Wednesday, Feb. 12, at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.
"Shaping the Future Through Innovation" runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is open to the public. Each year the conference brings in almost 400 attendees, as well as speakers from the public, private and social business world.
Honest Tea co-founder and CEO Seth Goldman is the keynote speaker. He is expected to talk about how innovation and sustainability can yield both financial and social dividends. Honest Tea, a Maryland-based beverage company founded in 1998, seeks to extend economic opportunities to communities in need. Other topics at the Duke 2014 Sustainable Business & Social Impact conference will include food innovation, sustainable use of water and social entrepreneurship.
The keynote address is at 9:20 a.m. in Fuqua's Geneen Auditorium. Free parking is available to a limited number of conference attendees in the parking lot on Science Drive (across from Fuqua). Additional parking is available to attendees for $5 at the Bryan Center garage.
