Small Fire in Brown Residence Hall Extinguished

Durham, NC - Note: An update on this story has now been posted: Students Relocated Due to Fire in Brown Residence Hall.

A small fire was reported in the Brown Residence Hall on Duke's East Campus Thursday evening. 

The fire, which originated on the third floor, was quickly extinguished, and no injuries were reported, said Kyle Cavanaugh, vice president for Administration and Duke's Emergency Coordinator.

Durham County Fire Department has responded to the scene, and officials are assessing the damage.
