Traffic Advisory: Durham Hosts Races on Sunday
Expected to impact campuses between 8 and 9:30 a.m.
Motorists traveling around Duke’s campuses may need to find alternate routes on Sunday morning.
Durham will be hosting the Bull City Race Fest beginning at 7:30 a.m. Sunday. A five-mile run and half marathon will take place across the city, including several areas at-or-nearby Duke. During the race, roads will be closed off to motorists.
Runners will follow a route around East Campus, including West Markham Avenue and North Buchanan Boulevard, before turning onto Campus Drive. The route then takes participants to Anderson Street. A full race map can be viewed here.
Duke Police will be stationed along Campus Drive to direct runners and provide traffic control from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. The portion of the race taking place along Duke areas is expected to last from 8 to 9:30 a.m.
As runners finish sections of the race route, roads will reopen for motorists.
