Name: Kenneth SupernawPosition: Staff assistant, Housing Assignments and Community Housing officeYears at Duke: 1

What I do at Duke: I assist with on-campus housing assignments for students. I mostly work with living groups like fraternities, sororities and social groups that have selective housing. Each semester, we'll assist each group set up housing, fill vacancies and help students who need to move rooms. I also work with Duke's Community Housing database for off-campus students and act as a resource for students looking to live off campus

My first ever job: Teaching Taekwondo. Growing up, I watched a lot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers. My brothers and I always thought it was so cool. We took a couple classes at a local martial arts studio and fell in love with it. Once I made black belt, our instructor wanted people to stay on to help teach and run classes.

If I had $5 million, I would: Start my own business by opening up a martial arts school teaching Taekwondo. It's something I've always wanted to do because I grew up teaching martial arts. I'd also buy a house and travel the world with my wife. We could just pick up and go. There are so many places we'd want to see. We'd go anywhere and everywhere in Europe and Asia.

My dream job is: Either a fight choreographer for action movies or a martial arts actor. Since I was a little kid, I've wanted to be an actor and do martial arts. I'd love to go to work every day and help people set up action scenes.

If someone wanted to start a conversation with me they should ask me about: I'm a 80s baby and love 80s movies and music. My friends and I love to go back-and-forth with old movie references, quotes or song lyrics. It's like a competition. You could also ask about martial arts and the Ultimate Fighting Championship. I love watching the fights. My favorite fighter at the moment is Georges St. Pierre. He's so methodical in his fight sequences, it's uncanny.

The best advice I ever received: My parents always told me growing up to do my best. If I did my best, they'd be proud of me no matter what.

What I love about Duke: The people. I've met so many different people with so many different backgrounds and people you'd never think you'd have things in common with, even if they're from halfway around the world. You can sit down and strike up a conversation with practically anybody. Duke is a great place for that.

When I'm not at work, I like to: Most of the time you could find my wife and I at a local restaurant enjoying delicious food and beer. We're very much about the local eateries, even the hole-in-a-wall places you may not know about. We like Geer Street Garden because the food is great and the wait staff is awesome.
