Jewish leaders representing corporate, civic and philanthropic organizations from across the country gathered at Duke over the weekend for a two-day national board meeting of the largest Jewish campus organization

President Richard Brodhead and other Duke officials welcomed the representatives from Hillel International, which is represented at more than 550 colleges and communities around the world. Larry Moneta, Duke's vice president for student affairs, and Rebecca Simons, director for Jewish life at Duke, are both outgoing members of its national board. They participated in the meeting at the Freeman Center for Jewish Life along with several other Duke representatives.

The participants discussed diverse issues affecting Jewish student life at college campuses, as well as Israel and other topics, and also toured the Duke campus. The meeting began Sunday morning and concluded on Monday afternoon.
