Two Panels to Look at US Visa and Immigration Policies, March 28

Discussion will focus on the effect on higher education and business

Two panel discussions will examine the effect of U.S. immigration and visa policies on America’s competitiveness on Thursday, March 28, at the Fuqua School of Business.

The conference is the first in a series of discussions organized by the National Foreign Trade Council (NFTC) Foundation's Global Innovation Forum. The event, hosted in partnership with Duke, the Durham Chamber of Commerce and Partnership for a New American Economy, will focus on the ability of the United States to attract and retain top global talent, particularly students, entrepreneurs, researchers and high-skilled workers.

One panel will focus on how immigration and visa policies affect American businesses and entrepreneurs while the second will focus on their influence on innovation and research in higher education.

The two discussions are open to members of the Duke community, business leaders, entrepreneurs and others. They will run from 10 a.m. until noon, and will be followed by lunch and an informal discussion.

-- Pan Wu, Ph.D. candidate, Department of Chemistry, Duke
