Durham, NC -

Durham Police apprehended two suspects near the Washington Duke Inn golf course on Sunday following a strong-arm robbery that occurred off campus.

One suspect was apprehended off campus near Pinecrest Road, and the other suspect was pursued to the Washington Duke Inn golf course, where he fled using a golf cart. Duke Police responded to help set up a perimeter, and the suspect was apprehended shortly afterward when he fled on foot near the Washington Duke Inn trail.

Duke Police issued an email and text message alert to the Duke community Sunday afternoon asking individuals to avoid the area.

Police said that neither the victim or the suspects had any connection to Duke.
