Undergraduate and graduate student members of Duke's Kunshan Student Advisory Council presented recommendations for student life at Duke Kunshan University to Duke administrators and DKU Executive Vice Chancellor Mary Bullock last Thursday.

The council has spent much of this year anticipating the needs of future DKU students and ways to foster a cross-cultural environment with rich student life offerings at DKU.  Their recommendations covered a range of topics including orientation and community building, diversity, recreational opportunities and career and counseling services.

The council, which consists of students from across Duke's schools and institutes, will continue working on these and other recommendations for DKU administrators.  Council representatives will travel to China this summer to visit other joint venture universities and learn about student life on those campuses to facilitate work with administrators in developing the student life plans for DKU.
