When Duke Performances' spring season begins in late January, faculty and staff will be able to see renowned performers at a discount.

As part of a special holiday season discount for employees, faculty and staff can purchase tickets to all spring 2013 shows at a 25 percent discount. Tickets must be purchased by Jan. 4 for spring season shows that run Jan. 18 to April 27.

"We're grateful to our fellow employees and want to share with them what we do," said Ken Rumble, marketing director for Duke Performances. "We offer some of the best performing arts in the country - shows that are uplifting, exciting, informative, fun, experiences that are sometimes rare outside of major cities. We hope to make these experiences even easier for everyone to be a part of."

The 41 performances scheduled during the upcoming season include famed tap dancer Savion Glover, the China National Symphony Orchestra and musician Buckwheat Zydeco with C.J. Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana Band.

To use the discount, employees must have a valid DukeCard and purchase tickets before Jan. 4 online, by calling (919) 684-4444 or visiting the University Box Office in the Bryan Center. The Box Office is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and one hour prior to performances.

Tickets purchased by phone or online will be held at the "will call" desk until the employee picks them up with a valid DukeCard.
