Watch Working@Duke LIVE On Demand
Bonnie McManus, whose battle with breast cancer was chronicled in the October/November 2012 issue of Working@Duke, shared more of her story during a live webcast last week.
The 30-minute "Working@Duke LIVE" talk show was an opportunity for McManus, senior coordinator for the Spanish Service Learning program, and Kyle Cavanaugh, vice president for administration at Duke, to share their perspectives on the value of health care.
Cavanaugh shared statistics about the costs Duke incurs for health expenses, the landscape of healthcare in the U.S. and ways Duke has managed health care costs for employees.
During the Nov. 8 webcast, several employees sent questions by email, including a heartfelt message from Patricia McPherson, who works with McManus.
"My Dear Friend Bonnie," McPherson wrote. "Continued prayers going up and many blessings in return!"
