Ready for Opera: Duke Student Workshop Performs Sondheim and Mozart This Weekend

Durham, NC - opera workshop

The Duke students of the Duke Opera Workshop are getting dressed up for this weekend's "Bon Voyage," featuring staged scenes from Sondheim's "Into the Woods, "Cole Porter's "Anything Goes," and Mozart's "Marriage of Figaro" with piano accompaniment by David Heid.

Pictured, above, the students are Beatrix Hutton, Lauren DeLucia, Justin Sandulli, Robyn Schmidt, Faiyam Rahman, Ellie Schaack and John Godbey.

Duke Opera Workshop is an ensemble of undergraduates presenting staged chamber operas, opera scenes, and musical revues.  Directed by Sandra Cotton, the performances will be at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, in Nelson Music Room, East Duke Building.  Admission is free.
