Traffic Advisory: Construction on Duke University Road

Work expected to conclude Friday afternoon

Durham, NC - Motorists traveling around the southern portion of West Campus may experience delays as construction takes place along Duke University Road through Friday afternoon.

The city of Durham has begun a repaving process along Duke University Road, beginning near Towerview Road and moving northeast to Chapel Drive. It's a continuation of work started last month near the Duke University Road-751 intersection.

Crews began milling the stretch of road today and construction crews will continue work to patch the road from around 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday. On Friday, paving will take place from about 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Crews will have workers posted on both sides of the road to assist with traffic, which will use one lane to pass through the construction area.

Work should be completed on Saturday. weather permitting.
