OLLI Celebrates 35 Years at Duke

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Duke held a 35th anniversary party this past weekend to celebrate its past and prepare for the future. Laurie Patton, (pictured) dean of arts and sciences at Duke, discussed the role that adult education can have within the university's developing mission of public scholarship.
Kali Lightfoot, executive director of the National Resource Center, gave the keynote address. She traced the development of OLLI from the 18th century roots of lifelong learning programs.
