Duke in Pictures: Flu Vaccination Blitz
Durham, NC -
Above, Duke nurses give flu vaccinations at Duke University Hospital. It was part of the Health System's second flu shot blitz, an effort to give flu shots to as many as 10,000 healthcare workers in a single day across Duke hospitals, clinics and health departments. Vaccinations were provided all day Wednesday, offering a 24-hour timeframe for employees on all shifts to get a flu shot, following guidelines that would be used during an epidemic, pandemic or emergency event.
In addition to the flu shot blitz, all Duke employees can receive a free vaccination with a valid DukeCard with unique ID. Vaccinations are available from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday, with the exception of noon to 2 p.m. Wednesdays in the Employee Occupational Health and Wellness (EOHW) office on the basement level of the Red Zone of Duke Clinic. No appointment is necessary.
