Computer Store Moves to Textbook Store Saturday

New location will be a temporary space for the remainder of the semester

As part of ongoing renovations to the Bryan Center, the Duke Computer Store will move from its lower level space in the Bryan Center to the Textbook Store on the second floor of the Bryan Center.

After the Computer Store closes at 6 p.m. this Friday, its products, merchandise and displays will be relocated to a temporary location in the Textbook Store. Due to the need to disconnect and reinstall the U.S. Postal Services' computer system in the new location during USPS business hours, postage purchases at the Computer Store will end for the day at 4 p.m. Friday.

The Computer Store will be fully operational with regular sales and services available when it opens at 9 a.m. Saturday morning at its temporary location in the Textbook Store. The Computer Store will operate out of this location through December, when it will shift into its new permanent space, also in the Textbook Store.

Angel Wingate, senior manager of the Duke Computer Program, said that the Computer Store may feature fewer displays in its temporary location, but the number and variety of products offered will remain the same due to daily deliveries from Duke Stores' Distribution Center on Hillsborough Road.

"We want our customers to know that they will continue to have access to all of our product offerings and services even after we move into our temporary space," she said.

The Computer Store's hours, including those for the US Postal retail operations, will be extended. Hours of operation will now be:

  • Monday to Wednesday - 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Thursday and Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Saturday - 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
