Hosted on Duke Universitys West Campus, the Duke University CDF Freedom Schools program aims to provide participants an engaging, enriching summer experience that not only helps to prevent summer learning loss but further builds reading comprehension and a love of reading. The six-week program, led by literacy teachers and staffed by trained and paid Duke University student interns, features the Freedom Schools Integrated Reading Curriculum in addition to the many cultural and recreational activities available on campus.
