Send Us Your Vacation Photo

Joanna Bell submitted this photo in response to Working@Duke's call for photos and stories that illustrate how Duke's paid time off benefit helps staff and faculty recharge.
"This photo was taken in Emerald Isle, N.C. over Memorial Day weekend," said Bell, recruiting coordinator at the Career and Professional Development Center at the Duke Law School. "After my boyfriend proposed out on the boat on the Trent river in New Bern, we headed to the beach to visit his family. Our golden retriever, Tucker, is a huge part of our lives and we wanted to capture him (and the ring) at the beach during a very special time."
Duke faculty and staff are invited to submit their best vacation photo and share how the paid time off benefit helps renew work-life balance. Each employee who submits a photo will be entered in a random drawing for a mini-vacation: a one-night stay and dinner and breakfast for two at the Washington Duke Inn in Durham. Photos must be taken within two years of the date of entry and submitted by July 23.
Participants get one additional entry into the drawing if they convince a colleague to submit a vacation photo, too. Just make sure the co-worker provides your full name in the "recommended by" section on the submission form and submits his or her own photo.
