Facilities Announces New Senior Director

Albert Scott will oversee Grounds, Housekeeping, Sanitation and Recycling Services

print |

Durham, NC - Facilities Management has announced that Albert Scott will join the department in July as senior director of Grounds, Housekeeping, Sanitation and Recycling Services. His appointment comes after a national search to fill this new position, created after the transfer of University Housekeeping to Facilities Management last July.

Scott currently serves as director of University Housekeeping at North Carolina State University. Before being promoted to director, he spent time working as a staff development specialist and deputy assistant director for academic facilities. He currently oversees 10-million square feet and 320 employees across three campuses, managing pest control, small equipment maintenance, custodial contractors, floor maintenance contractors, and housekeeping services for numerous departments and offices.

Prior to his position at NC State, Scott served in the United States Air Force, retiring after 23 years of service. He began his career as an intelligence specialist and spent his last 20 years as a maintenance supervisor. While enlisted, he earned an associate degree from the Community College of the Air Force and a bachelor's degree in human resource development from Mount Olive College. In 2010, Albert earned an Educational Facilities Professional Certification from APPA.
