Durham, NC - Duke staff and faculty who are members of the Wilson and Brodie recreation centers have until June 30 to renew their annual memberships.

If a member doesn't renew by that date, their privilege uses will end and they can rejoin any time by going through the full application process to purchase membership. Non-members are eligible to sign up at any time.

Those enrolled in the Duke Fitness Club organized by LIVE FOR LIFE, Duke's employee wellness program, and undergraduate and graduate students, do not need to renew their membership because they're renewed automatically.

"Compared to other gyms in Durham and around the Triangle, our prices and services are extremely competitive," said Felicia Tittle, executive director of Duke Recreation and Physical Education. "We offer pools, weight rooms, cardio rooms, classes and more. It's a great benefit to have all this right on campus."

Duke employees pay an annual membership fee broken up into 10 monthly payments. Payments are pro-rated if faculty or staff sign up after June 30. Annual costs are:

• $224 per individual
• $448 for a family of up to four people - each additional member is an extra $112

All members have access to both Brodie and Wilson recreation centers. Non-members can pay $10 via cash or FLEX for a single use of a gym.

To sign up or renew memberships, employees have several options:

• Use the DukeCard Express Station in the lobby of the Wilson Recreation Center
• Visit the DukeCard website
• Stop by the DukeCard office at 100 West Campus Union Building
• Contact LIVE FOR LIFE to sign up through the Duke Fitness Club
