Editor's Note: The following email from associate dean Russ Morgan was sent to members of the Fuqua community Thursday morning.

Durham, NC - Dear Fuqua Community,

Unfortunately, I am writing to deliver some very sad news.  On Tuesday, we lost a vital member of our community, Jessica Caroe, in a motor vehicle accident.  Jessica was a rising second year Daytime MBA student and was traveling in Kentucky when the accident occurred.

We are terribly saddened by this news and extend our deepest sympathies to Jessica's family, friends, and everyone she touched in the Fuqua community. Jessica's fiance, Robert Storrs, was also killed in the accident and we extend our sympathies to all who knew Robert as well.

This is devastating news and understandably difficult for all of us to comprehend. For her fellow classmates who are scattered around the world for internships, I encourage you to provide support for each other in whatever ways you can. While we will each grieve this loss in different ways, please know that the CAPS office at Duke has been made aware of this and is available to talk with you in person or over the phone.  Please take care of yourselves and support one another as we all work through this.

A memorial service and funeral in Florida are being planned and I will provide details as they are provided to me. We will plan also find a way to honor Jessica when you return in August. We will all miss Jessica and there will be a void at Fuqua from her absence.  Please keep her in your thoughts and hearts.

With Sadness,

Russ
