Entering Student Wins Alumni Scholarship

An incoming Duke student from Texas is named an Alumni Endowed Undergraduate Scholar.

Sarah Elizabeth Watson, a senior at Boerne-Samuel V. Champion High School in Boerne, Texas, has been named an Alumni Endowed Undergraduate Scholar at Duke University.

The Duke Alumni Association established the scholarship in 1979 to recognize the academic and personal achievements of children or grandchildren of Duke alumni who enroll as an undergraduate at Duke.

The Alumni Endowed Scholarship covers tuition, room, board and mandatory fees for eight semesters of undergraduate academic studies, during which the scholar remains in good standing. It also provides an opportunity to participate in a summer-abroad course, and a chance to meet with other scholarship recipients in an informal program conducted during each academic year.

Watson, of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, is the daughter of Leslie and Fletcher Watson.
