Help choose the Gallery Choice Prize at the Kenan Institute for Ethics' third annual "Artifice: What is Good Art?" exhibition. The gala reception is an opportunity to see student visual art that examines the nature of truth in art. The judges' selections of prizes will be announced, and the Gallery Choice Prize will be chosen by popular vote of those in attendance. West Duke 101, East Campus.

Duke's Ciompi Quartet continues their Lunchtime Classics Concerts with Haydn's String Quartet No. 5 in F Minor and Shostakovich's String Quartet No. 12 in D-flat Major. Join Nasher Museum staff at the Balance and Beer at Fullsteam Brewery event. In celebration of the current exhibition, Alexander Calder and Contemporary Art, Nasher Museum staff will provide free materials and directions so you can create your own mobile while enjoying a pint. "When, Why, and Should We Lie," is the title of this year's Kenan Distinguished Lecture in Ethics. Professor Paul Ekman, whose work in psychology and facial expression is the basis behind the popular TV show, "Lie to Me," will offer his thoughts on the science of emotion, expression and deceit.
