Administrative Women's Network Hosts Social Media Discussion

Talk to focus on building relationships with online networking

Duke's Administrative Women's Network will host "Leveraging Social Networking for Personal and Professional Success" on March 14.

The free event is from noon to 1 p.m. in Perkins Library, Room 217. All Duke faculty and staff (male and female) are welcome. Membership in the Administrative Women's Network is not required to attend.

Jackie Podger, physician integration coordinator for Duke University Hospital, will lead the discussion.

"I'm hoping it will be an interactive session that helps us all better understand how forming groups - virtually or face-to-face - can allow for better connectivity," Podger said. "With the explosion of online social networking options, it is becoming easier and easier to share ideas and get recommendations from each other, and that can be used for both personal and professional purposes."

The Administrative Women's Network was established at Duke in 1985 to assist women at Duke University and Duke University Health System in accomplishing their goals by fostering professional development and personal growth. Annual dues are $15. Membership forms will be available at the March 14 event for those who may be interested in joining the organization.
