Duke Today Podcast: A Catalog of Early Primates
Durham, NC - For more than three decades, Duke researchers have collected and catalogued more than 25,000 fossils of early primates, the earliest ancestors of monkeys, apes and humans. Some of these ancient fossils date back more than 40 million years.
Now Gregg Gunnell, the new director of Duke's Fossil Primate Center, is leading an effort to bring the entire collection to the World Wide Web. His goal is to give scholars and students greater access to this important collection, which will help us learn more about the evolution of our own species.
