Durham, NC - Steve Grathwohl's eclectic taste in music presented a difficult choice among the Duke Performances concerts to attend.

Three hours of Christian Tetzlaff playing all of J.S. Bach's solo violin music? A jazz trio with Robert Glasper? Or 16th-century a capella music performed by the Tallis Scholars in Duke Chapel?

Grathwohl was on the verge of buying all three when he discovered that Duke Performances is offering Duke staff and faculty a discount on tickets purchased before Dec. 30.

"I figured I could see four concerts for the price of three, so I'm going to add Garrick Ohlsson's all Liszt piano recital to my package," said Grathwohl, a digital content developer for Duke University Press Journals.

The 25 percent discount on 30 concerts during the 2011-12 season, which runs through April 28, 2012.

To use the discount, employees must have a valid DukeCard and purchase the tickets before Dec. 30, 2011, either online, by phone at (919) 684-4444 or in person at the Box Office in the University Bryan Center.

Tickets purchased by phone or online will be held at the "will call" desk until the employee picks them up with a valid DukeCard.
