The Duke women's basketball team plays its first home game of the season Nov. 18, and to celebrate the new season and show appreciation for employee fans, Duke is offering $3 admission to Duke staff and faculty.

In addition, employees can now purchase the women's basketball Employee Athletic Pass, sponsored by the Duke Federal Credit Union, and save big on season tickets to one of the premiere programs in the country.

"Blue Devil women's basketball has benefited from Duke faculty and staff for years and years," said women's basketball head coach Joanne P. McCallie. "We are so appreciative of their support and all they do. It's great how they believe in our vision to have Cameron Indoor Stadium sold out more frequently."

Currently ranked eighth in the country, the team's home schedule tips off Nov. 18 against Auburn University. Duke will host 13 other home games throughout the season, including games against national powers like the University of Connecticut, University of Miami, Florida State University and local rivals University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University.

The women's basketball Employee Athletic Pass costs $75 for one general admission seating season ticket ($40 off regular price) and $75 for any additional season ticket. Faculty and staff who also have the football Employee Athletic Pass receive even greater discounts. Football pass holders can receive four general admission seats for $75 ($385 off) and $18.75 for each additional seat.

Last year, Duke women's basketball finished the season 32-4 and ranked sixth after losing to eventual champion Connecticut in the Elite Eight. The Blue Devils were among the most watched teams in women's basketball, placing first in the ACC in attendance, averaging about 5,200 fans per game.

The women's basketball Employee Athletic Pass can be purchased by visiting the Duke Athletics Ticket Office or calling (919) 681-2583. The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
