Android Feature Tracks Apps' Edits to Mobile Media

Computer scientists are creating software to track and tag the authenticity of crowd-sourced media.

YouProve is new Android software that monitors how individuals are editing their mobile media in third-party apps. The goal of this feature for Android is to allow people to see what edits were made so they can decide how trustworthy the information is.

Duke computer scientist and YouProve developer Landon Cox said authenticity of crowd-sourced media will become more important as we rely more on citizen journalism and self-submitted reports.
