You don't need to start saying "Cheese!" but if
you smile at the right time and place, you could be
immortalized in a Google map for years to come.

The company's "Street View" camera is visiting
Duke University today (Friday), snapping photos across the campus. Mounted atop
a specially adapted car, Street View shoots panoramic views with nine
directional cameras, providing users with 360-degree views of local houses and
buildings -- or in Duke's case, of classroom buildings, residence halls and one
spectacular chapel. Google will capture views along Duke's private roads and
pedestrian areas and also create interior photos of some prominent campus buildings.

Google's visit complements the university's 3-D campus mapping project,
which is now under way and is expected to be completed later this year.
