Improve Computer, Leadership Skills With Workshops

Learning and Organization Development has announced new classes to improve skills

Faculty and staff can now sign up for new workshops hosted by Duke's Learning and Organization Development.

New workshops have been added from July through December. Topics include: computer software, general work skills and management development. Many sessions are available to Duke employees for less than $100.

"These workshops help individual contributors, managers and leaders build and improve their skill sets and more effectively accomplish both department and Duke goals," said James McPherson, director of Learning & Organization Development.

In addition to new Microsoft Office 2007 classes, by Learning and Organization Development is also offering introductory level classes in Office 2010 for Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access. Faculty and staff using older versions of office can upgrade to 2010 for free through the Office for Information Technology.

Employees can find a full list of workshops on the by Learning and Organization Development website. Periodic updates about workshop offerings are also available through an e-mail list.
