50 Years Later, Duke Student to Follow the Trail of the Freedom Riders
Sophomore to participate in journey as part of "American Experience"

Rajlakshmi De, a Trinity College sophomore, is one of 40
American college students who will re-enact the Freedom Rides this summer for
PBS's "American Experience" program.
The students set out from Washington, D.C., May 6 and will
travel through Charlotte, Birmingham, Montgomery and Selma, Ala., and Jackson,
Miss., before ending the journey May 16 in New Orleans. A film of their trip will be shown on
"American Experience" May 16.
