Sarah P. Duke Gardens Membership Savings
Save money on membership at Duke Gardens and get a jump on the April 30 plant sale
Duke faculty and staff can get a jump on the spring plant sale crowd at Sarah P. Duke Gardens by taking advantage of the gardens' discount on membership.
Employees who join as members before the end of April pay $40 instead of $50 for membership. Perks of membership include:
- An invitation to the preview of the spring plant sale from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 29
- 10 percent discount on Terrace Shop merchandise
- Discounts on classes
- 1-year subscription to Better Homes and Gardens magazine
Martha Coombs, who works in the Duke Hospital Transfusion Service, became a Duke Gardens member last year during the spring plant sale.
"My boyfriend and I love gardening and cannot resist spending lots of money on plants," she said. "It made sense to become a member."
Faculty and staff can take advantage of the discount membership by calling (919) 668-1711, or e-mailing millicent.snow@duke.edu. Employees can also sign up for membership at the preview sale on Friday, April 29, or during the main event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 30.
