Durham, NC - Bestselling author and leading scholar of animal behavior Temple Grandin spoke to a sold-out audience in Baldwin Auditorium Monday.

Grandin, who received an honorary doctorate of humane letters from Duke in 2010, is a philosophical leader in both the animal welfare and autism advocacy movements. She is also the subject of the 2010 Emmy Award-winning HBO film "Temple Grandin," a semi-biographical account of her life as a high-functioning person with autism.

The talk was part of Women's Studies' 2010-11 theme "Animals and the Question of Species."
