A capacity crowd announced at 39,042 people filled Wallace Wade Stadium Saturday to watch top-ranked and defending national champion Alabama defeat Duke.
The turnout marked the largest attendance in Wallace Wade Stadium since 1991. While much of the stadium was dressed in Duke blue, a large contingent of Crimson Tide fans turned several sections of Wallace Wade red.
Duke officials worked with Alabama to accommodate the special needs of the many visitors, including setting up a special parking area for Alabama RVs near campus.
