Buildings Evacuated as Precaution Due to Odor

Four research buildings on Duke's campus were evacuated Thursday morning as a precaution due to an odor of unknown origin in the area.

The Durham Fire Department responded to the scene to investigate, and employees were allowed to return to their offices and laboratories a short time later.

The buildings that were evacuated are along Research Drive and include Medical Science Research Building II, Vivarium, Genome Sciences Research Building II and the Occupational and Environmental Safety Office.
