Campus Access to Be Restricted for Game Tonight

Employees should carry DukeCard for access

From left, Marcus Wright, Maggie Bice, Joey Lauer, Martha Trevino and Kimi Rafie celebrate Duke's win in the NCAA semifinal game on Saturday night during the watch party at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

On Monday night, the Duke men's basketball team will play for the NCAA national championship, and access to campus will be limited during that time.

Beginning with the start of the game at about 9:20 p.m., access to West and East campuses will be limited to students and their spouses/partners, employees and alumni with appropriate identification. News media with Duke-issued press badges will also be permitted on campus.

All members of the Duke community are asked to carry and present their DukeCards for access to campus Monday night.

A special viewing of the national championship game will be hosted for students in Cameron Indoor Stadium on Monday night. The event is only open to students, who will be required to swipe their DukeCards to enter.

On Tuesday afternoon, an event is scheduled in Cameron Indoor Stadium to welcome the team home and celebrate their successful season. The event will be held regardless of tomorrow night's outcome and is open to all students, faculty and staff, as well as the public. The doors to Cameron will open at noon and the team is expected to arrive at about 1 p.m.

There will likely be increased activity on campus the next few days, so employees are asked to be safe and observant. Any suspicious or dangerous activities should be reported immediately to Duke Police by dialing 911 from a campus phone or 684-2444.
