Duke undergraduates joined National Equality March

Durham, NC - Members of Blue Devils United, Duke University's undergraduate lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) student organization, attended the National Equality March in Washington, DC, on Sunday, Oct. 11.

 

The march was organized as a call to action for equal protection for LGBT people. The students who were wearing their Love=Love tees shirts from Coming Out Day at Duke and carried signs made during a recent Fabulous Friday at the Duke LGBT Center.

Students heard speeches from several dignitaries including Judy Shepherd, mother of the late Matthew Shepherd, and Julian Bond, chair of the NAACP.
