Duke Walkers Wanted to Fight Asthma

Eighth annual event to be held Sept. 19

DURHAM, N.C. - All members of the Duke community are invited to participate in the eighth annual Fight for Air (formerly the Asthma Walk) on Saturday, Sept. 19, on the Centennial Campus at N.C. State University in Raleigh.

Dr. Bill Fulkerson, pulmonologist and senior vice president for clinical affairs for Duke Health System is serving as medical chair at Duke for the event.

Participants will walk 3.2 miles to support American Lung Association in the fight against asthmatic diseases. Today, more than 35 million Americans are living with chronic lung diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic bronchitis, and interstitial lung disease.
