DURHAM, N.C. - A water line that burst Wednesday afternoon at a city work site on Erwin Road near Duke University Hospital may impact traffic for the next 24 hours.

Erwin Road is closed from Fulton Street to Research Drive in the westbound lane. Only one eastbound lane is open from Research Drive to Fulton Street.

Motorists should expect delays, and are encouraged to take alternate routes to their destination, when possible.

Detour signs will direct traffic around the affected area.
