Relive Last Year's Event

Durham, NC - Duke football kicks off its second season under Coach David Cutcliffe Sept. 5, and faculty and staff are invited to celebrate the 2009 opener as part of Duke Appreciation.

The festivities, sponsored by Duke Athletics and Human Resources, begin at 4 p.m. at K-ville Quad, where employees and family members can enjoy a buffet meal, games, music and the "Blue Devil Alley" football team march to Wallace Wade Stadium before the 7 p.m. game against University of Richmond.

"The support we received from the Duke community last year was simply outstanding," Cutcliffe said. "Our fans play a vital role in creating a great home game atmosphere for our team, and we want Duke employees to be a huge part of that experience."

Countdown to Kick Off:

 

4 p.m. Employee Fan Zone opens on K-ville Quad

  --Buffet meal with indoor and tent seating (must have Duke ID)

 

    --Inflatable games (football obstacle course and bungee run)

  --Face-painting

 

  --Raffle for airline tickets, football jerseys, autographed footballs

 

--Concessions/Merchandise for sale

 

 

4:30 p.m. Duke Football Team "Blue Devil Alley" Walk

 

5 p.m. Love Newton classic rock band performs

 

5 p.m. North Gate of Wallace Wade Stadium Opens

 

5:30 p.m. All Gates of Wallace Wade Stadium Open

 

6 p.m. Duke University Marching Band pep rally

 

6:30 p.m. Employee Fan Zone closes

 

7 p.m. Duke vs. Richmond
