The QEP Challenge Winner Is Announced

Student wins free lunch for two at the Refectory

Trinity College sophomore Jen Midura has won the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) challenge by answering both questions correct and getting her name selected from the winners.

For two years, a team of faculty, staff and students has worked on the QEP as part of Duke's reaccreditation process by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The plan is based on the theme of "Global Duke: Enhancing Students' Capacity for World Citizenship."

You could read the entire document, which is here, but we think it's more likely that you want the short version. But if you do that, not only can you learn about the educational opportunities in the plan, but you'll get a chance to win lunch on us.

The correct answers are listed in bold below. Thank you to everyone who participated.

Duke Gears Up for the Winter Forum

Next January, students will have a new motive for returning to campus a few days before spring semester -- to attend a university-wide retreat on a major global issue.

The Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions will sponsor the first of these Winter Forums in conjunction with Arts & Sciences and the graduate and professional schools. These forums are geared for undergraduates but include graduate and professional school faculty, students and alumni. The inaugural forum will focus on world challenges facing the environment and what people can do about them. For information about the forum and other two components of the QEP, click here.
