Durham, NC - Duke University students will file into the Intramural Building near Cameron Indoor Stadium today (Friday) at 1 p.m. for the second annual Dance Marathon to benefit Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center.

Students volunteer (as individuals or relay teams of four) to stand on their feet for 12 or more hours to raise money and show support for the children's hospital's patients and their families.

Students will pass the time with entertainment provided by student groups and DJs, video games, dancing, basketball. In addition the students will meet some of the families they are supporting and hear how contributions from Dance Marathon help patients.

Next week, during the MIX 101.5 Radiothon for Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center some Dance Marathon students will be in the Foresters phone bank taking pledges. The phone bank, in fact, will be put into place by the Duke men's lacrosse team. A few Duke coaches and student athletes will also be stopping by the fund-raiser to encourage listeners to donate.

The MIX 101.5 Radiothon is in its 15th year and has raised nearly $10 million to support pediatric programs at Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center.
