Sprucing up Gilbert-Addoms Dorm

Students and members of the Duke Grounds Department joined forces Saturday to help landscape the territory in front of Gilbert-Addoms residence hall.

The event also taught students about incorporating edible plant material in local landscapes. The project was sponsored by Duke GROWS (Grounds Revitalization Opportunities with Students), a campus beautification program sponsored by Duke Grounds, Recycling, and Sanitation Departments.

About 50 student volunteers, including the Duke baseball team and Cynthia Brodhead, installed plants, trees, and edible plant material.
